The Ambazonia Defence forces forced Cameroonian security forces to retreat when the two engaged in an exchange of fire in the occupied territory of Ambaland.
According to the news Agencies, the military was forced to withdraw from the town of the province of Belo located in northwestern Ambazonia following heated exchanges.
The occupying forces of Cameroon have for months now been engaged in exchanges with the people of Ambazonia republic.
Local media portals have reported human rights violations by the Cameroonian army in many parts of the occupied Ambazonia territory. Reports say the army has often burnt down and shot people in their raids in violation of international laws and the right of the people of Ambazonia .
Hundreds of people are said to have fled into nearby bushes for fear of being caught in the crossfire. The United Nations has also reported that over 20,000 Ambazonia has fled into the occupied Biafra territory by Nigeria.
What started as a push for rights by teachers and lawyers in the occupied territory of the Republic of Ambazonia, have since October last year escalated into an armed confrontation between Yaounde and different ADF Ambazonia Defence Forces.
According to the Government of Ambazonia spokesperson, Ambazonia Defense Force (ADF) has claimed responsibility for some of the guerrilla-style attacks in defenses of her vulnerable citizens being abused by Cameroonian forces.
Recently, an imposed governor of the Southwest region was attacked whiles on his way for an official assignment. The armed convoy of Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai came under fire from ADF on his way to and from the district of Labialem.
