King Salman vows to ‘wipe out’ Isis after Saudi mosque attack.

King Salman of Saudi Arabia has vowed to ‘wipe out’ Isis after a suicide bomber sent by the militant group killed 21 people in the country on Friday.

Speaking after the attack on a Shia mosque in the east of the country, Salman said he was “pained by the enormity of the crime”.

Twenty-one people were killed and more than 80 wounded when the militant, named as Saudi citizen Saleh bin Abdul Rahman Saleh Qashimi, blew himself up during Friday prayers at the mosque near Qatif. It was one of the worst attacks the kingdom has seen in recent years.

Salman added that “this terrorist aggression… contradicts Islamic and humanitarian values”. Saudi authorities say that five men who were believed to be part of the same Isis cell as Qashimi are now in custody.

Every participant, planner, supporter, collaborator or sympathiser with this heinous crime will be held accountable, tried and punished.

Our efforts will never stop … fighting the deviant thought, confronting the terrorists and wiping out their hotbeds.
