The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governorship Candidate in Akwa Ibom , Mr Udom Emmanuel, on Monday said that he would establish an international market for exportation of oil palm from the state, if elected.

Emmanuel made the promise during his campaign rally in Afaha Ikot Ebak, headquarters of Essien Udim Local Government Area of the state.

The candidate, who said Essien Udim was known as home of oil palm, added that it was also strategically situated as gateway to the state.

He added that “my government will do more to create wealth and empowerment from the vast oil palm and other agricultural resources in this area.

 “If elected, we shall establish an international market in Essien Udim as part of our robust economic development agenda for the area.”

The wife of Akwa Ibom Governor, Mrs Ekaete Akpabio, urged the people of the area to resist the deceit by the opposition and continue to support PDP to attract more development to the area.

Akpabio said the PDP-led government in the state had given the people true development.

Earlier, the political leader of Essien Udim, Chief Michael Afangide, said “Udom represents justice, equity and competence.
