Biafra – finalising the orchestration of the victory symphony

Herbert Ekwe-Ekwe FEW NOW FAIL to observe the unassailable ascent of the Biafra freedom movement. The convulsive desperation being exhibited by the British chief representative to genocidist Nigeria presently in speech after speech in this “country” of Britain’s denouncing Igbo/other African peoples’ rights to self-determination speaks volumes of British acknowledgement, however belated, 51 years later, that neither it nor its client co-genocidist state Nigeria can stop the triumph of Biafra freedom. No one else can….

BIAFRA:In the struggle for our freedom, all hail our heroes

BIAFRA:In the struggle for our freedom, all hail our heroes

The above heading is also the title of a song originally composed by Charles O. Okereke. The lyrics of this song which quickly turned into a classic in a few short years were originally conceived in 1970. Okereke 14 at the time was just a child – a Biafran child, that is. As Biafra’s defeat was announced over the radio waves, the words of the song tumbled into his young mind. Ironically, the prophetic declarations…

NEWS: Why Nigeria Failed and why Biafra must take centre stage.

We are all born into history. We did not choose to be born into our own unique history. We did not choose to be born Igbo, Efik, Ibibio, Ijaw, Ogoja, Itsekiri, Isoko, Esan, and Urhobo. We are simply born into who we are. We were born into who we are free of coercion, compulsion, or persuasion. We simply became who we are.   As a result of who we are we inherited specific social and…

The Igbo want to do something for themselves – create a country for and by their selves

The Igbo want to do something for themselves – create a country for and by their selves   Igbo as an ethnic nation has a population of 50 million. Though the people are dispersed across the globe but they all have their root in a definitive physical geographical space which is often referred to as Igbo Land. All Igbo everywhere call this piece of real estate to which they are indigenous: Homeland. Present Igbo people…

Deconstructing the false image of the Igbo as the poster child liberators of their neighbours

Deconstructing the false image of the Igbo as the poster child liberators of their neighbours   Over the last few decades it does not speak well of the rationality of some of those involved in the Biafran or Igbo liberation movement that they base some of their actions and statements on mere assumptions. As a result some of these Biafran activists have created in the minds of some observers a false impression of what the…

Taking Igbo out of Nigerian bondage Part 3

Taking Igbo out of Nigerian bondage Part 3

Eat with the devil but with long spoon   If we should equate Igbo’s existence in Nigeria as being in hell then it is inevitable that the Igbo must eat or interact with the devil – the lord of Hell. Though the ultimate goal of the Igbo is to exit Nigeria, but to be able to do that, the Igbo must first engage the Nigerian state politically, diplomatically and in other ways. In engaging Nigeria…
